Central Office (CO)



        In telephone communication in the United States, a central office (CO) is an office in a locality to which subscriber home and business lines are connected on what is called a local loop. The central office has switching equipment that can switch calls locally or to long-distance carrier phone offices.


     CO (Control Operator / Office) that controls parts of central / peripheral device set to work, part of which became the center of the Service Provider. Device Example: DTE Device: - Terminal (PC, Laptop, PC Client, etc.) DCE Device: - Hub, Switch, Modem, etc. CPE Device: - Telephone, ADSL Modem Device CO: -ISP and is the center of the network set the example: server
